I went through a divorce, lost 2 family members and was in a five car pileup accident within two months. Also no family living by me. My ‘supposedly’ best friend who had tons of family members around and who also claimed to be a christian distanced herself from me because of ‘too much drama in my life.’ I let her go and never looked back. Real friends are there when the going gets rough. I decided I did not want a friend who was there during the easy times but would bail when my life had drama in it. It’s been over 10 years, I still miss her but would never associate with a person who showed such heartless behavior. You sound great and seem to be a caring person.
